Information on Privacy and Confidentiality at GUIDe
The GUIDE clinic is committed to ensuring the privacy and confidentiality of your personal information in line with data protection legislation. Further information on the hospital information governance can be found here, http://www.stjames.ie/InformationGovernance/
As is the case in most countries, there is legislation in Ireland which requires that certain infectious diseases be notified to Public Health. Under our Infectious Disease Regulations, all medical practitioners, including clinical directors of diagnostic laboratories, are required to notify specified infectious diseases to the Medical Officer of Health/Director of Public Health. Further information is available at: http://www.hpsc.ie/notifiablediseases/
In line with these regulations, the GUIDE clinic has an agreement with the local Medical Officer of Health to undertake partner notification in order to prevent the spread of sexually transmitted infections. Partner notification is the process of providing access to specific forms of healthcare, such as advice, testing and treatment, to sexual contacts of an individual diagnosed with a sexually transmitted infection. More information on sexually transmitted infections is available at: https://www.sexualwellbeing.ie/sexual-health/sexually-transmitted-infections/”
We are introducing online bookings for the Guide Clinic. For the initial Phase of the project, we are only catering for Non-Symptom STI Screening Tests and PrEP clinic appointments. We will look to bring other Appointment Types online soon, but for now only those patients with no symptoms can book online. For all other patients please see the Coming to See Us area of the website.
MONKEYPOX: If you are concerned that you have symptoms of Monkeypox or have been a close contact of somebody with Monkeypox please phone the clinic in advance of your appointment. Please DO NOT walk in. This will enable us to arrange appropriate care for you. Please phone (01) 416 2315, Option 1.
Vaccinations against Monkeypox are currently not yet available at the GUIDe Clinic. This website will be updated as information is made available to us.
In line with public health guidance, please DO NOT attend the GUIDe clinic if you have symptoms of COVID19 or are a COVID19 contact.
Online STI bookings: www.swiftqueue.com please book into the appropriate clinic. Appointments are released regularly so please check back for availability. There is no walk-in STI service.
